Plan for promoting actions in response to climate change, as well as the information integration platform maintenance

The implementation period of the project lasted for a year, from Oct. 24th, 2016 to Oct. 23rd, 2017. The outcomes are summarized as follows: The aim of the project is to guide local governments to enhance the capability to cope with the impacts of climate change. The results are as follows: the establishment of the Grading Committee, two review meetings at the end of 2016, preparatory work for the award ceremony and respective brochures, a summary of evaluation of 2016 outcomes, expert consultations and city seminars, the development of rating methods to be carried out in 2017, the establishment of the rating system in 2017 and 3 presentations regarding to interim results. In the meantime, some collaborative work has been completed as well, such as case studies, review subsidy projects, host review meetings and the planning of the subsidy system. In order to raise public’s awareness to climate change, a competition named “Action Taken for Climate-Be a Hero of Carbon Reduction” was conducted from Aug. 14th to Sep. 10th, 2017 in the hope of collecting the photos regarding to carbon reduction. The competition received positive feedbacks, and 1,497 photos were collected and the selection review meeting had been held on Oct. 5th. In addition, three types of promotion materials in online version were designed as well as the development of mini-games for children. For the purpose of promoting the low-carbon and sustainable homeland certification and evaluation, the project continues to maintain the operation of “Low Carbon Sustainable Information System” and “Climate Change Information System” websites, and developed the open data of the webpage for the analysis and application, and increased the efficiency of conducting the certification and evaluation. Meanwhile, the project completed to collect and release climate-change information both internationally and domestically, updated the content and the data on the webpage, developed the website function such as labelling, categorizing, filtering, and data uploading from back-end server, held annual policy implementation presentations, constructed the webpage of promotion and the results of meetings, etc.
